Militant Attack in Burkina Fasu on Tuesday – Civilians killed in ‘terror attack’ in Burkina Faso, government reports.
A killing rampage was carried out by a “terrorist group” as per Government sources.
Burkina Faso will observe national mourning for 2 days (22nd and 23rd January 2020) after militants killed 36 civilians mercilessly.
Armed militants barged their way into a local crowded market in the village of Alamou in Sanmatenga province on Tuesday and attacked people there before burning down the contructed area.
Al Qaeda linked Islamist groups and the so-called “Islamic State” have carried out several barbaric attacks against civilian and military targets in Burkina Faso in recent months. Last year in November the onslaught on a Canadian mining convoy killed at least 37 people was also carried out by the same terrorist groups.
President Roch Marc Kabore responded to the onslaught by calling for two days of national mourning. It was not immediately clear who was responsible for the market attack.
